Nova Scotians went to the polls earlier today (Tuesday). One riding had some technical issues, and opened one hour later than scheduled. The voters in that riding could vote an hour later this evening than the rest of the province. The provincial returning officer didn't release results until 9pm Atlantic time, when the polls in the one riding closed.
It was a tsumami of returns at 9pm. CTV in Nova Scotia declared a majority government at 9:02:24. The seat counts were going up two and three at a time every ten or fifteen seconds. That must be some kind of record, less than 2.5 minutes to declare not only the winner, but a majority government.
The results were so quick since other than the one riding, all others started counting the ballots at 8pm and most had completed the count one hour later when the results were entered in the computers.
