Former CFRB & AM640 Newsman Gets New Job After Demise Of CHML

You might remember the name Dave Woodard. For a time, he did news on both CFRB and AM640. He eventually went from Corus' Toronto station to its Hamilton outlet to become the anchor of CHML's morning newscasts.

We all know what happened to AM900 and the terrible way it was handled. Now Woodard is back in the business, this time securing a position as the Supervising Audio Producer for The Canadian Press. CP sends out voicers and reports for radio use which can be heard on stations across the country.

I wish him luck - the place can be a zoo at times. For a very brief period in the mid-80s, I filled in at the CP Audio Feed room. Even overnights, it was often a crazy busy place.

Great broadcaster and a great guy, smart to leave the sinking 640..
