Hoda Kotb has been a fixture on NBC's Today Show for decades and has served the network for a quarter of a century.
But that will soon change, when she leaves her morning show perch for good. Kotb says turning 60 made her realize time is flying and she still has a lot of other things to do.
In an emotional statement on air Thursday, she told viewers:
“I saw it all so clearly: my broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie.”
She will wrap up her duties sometime in 2025, but will remain with the network for other occasional duties.
Expect a lot of hype as the goodbye date approaches.
