It's a small nit-picky kind of thing, but since we are heavily into Canadian newscasts filling up with American presidential election stories, I've noticed an annoying mistake among Canadian newscasters and reporters who refer to the US president as "commander AND chief."
The correct term is Commander IN chief.
I don't remember Canadian news people ever getting that title wrong in the past.
But it seems the "and" mistake is becoming quite common, and even some American announcers are getting it wrong. .I heard an interviewer on CNN of all places saying Commander and chief.
C'mon announcers... You've got one job to do -- to announce. Get it right.
