Tuned in to 1150 last night and again a few minutes ago. It appears the audio is totally distorted. Obviously the powers that be aren't listening to their station.

Yep. I'm hearing that, too. It's "in the red" as we used to say. But it sounds fine online.

What if they just back off the level so that it averages -5 dB? It's hammering the processor. There are times where the softer passages are louder than the harder parts of the music.
On 10CC's "Things We Do...", every time the lead backs off the vocal, up surges the sound. Just terrible.

I noticed that this morning as well, but here their volume was much louder than it has been and much louder than the other two AM music stations I listen to: CJOY and AM740

I listened to CKOC for about half an hour this afternoon in the car. Volume was ok, but the signal was noisy until I got to about Guelph. However, I heard the announcer do only one break in 20 minutes. Why bother having an announcer? I heard no commercials and only station image ID's and music. They did have a CKOC jingle at the top of the hour.
CJOY in Guelph is almost non existent even in Kitchener on my car radio as is AM640 so I can't compare them to CKOC. AM 740 comes in well, and both 1010 and 1050 are not great but listenable. 570 News comes in loud and clear. My car radio for AM is not that great, and poor at pulling in stations.
