There are already three “Law & Order” shows, which last season took up three hours of primetime on NBC. It will be slightly less this season (L&O: Criminal Intent has moved to Peacock) but if you add in City’s L&O: Toronto, you’ve still got four hours of it a week. And those are only the ones still on. There’s also a plethora of non-stop reruns on TV subcarrier and cable channels in the U.S. The only thing missing: more Law & Order.
 
Producer Dick Wolf, who never saw a franchise he couldn’t exploit, is back with yet another serving of this crime cake. This time, it’s “Law & Order: Criminal Justice System,” a true crime podcast series that’s online only. It starts with the traditional intro by Steve Zirnkilton, who a long time ago, lucked out getting to intone those famous words “In the criminal justice system…” He’s been doing it ever since and continues on the audio only version. The famous "duhn duhn" by Mike Post is also present. 
 
It goes online Aug. 22 with four 12 season episodes.
