He had a lot of hits in the 80s and now, apparently, it's hip to be on the square screen. In a very bizarre move, hitmaker Huey Lewis is returning - but not to music. Instead, in a rather bizarre idea, he'll be the star of his own Fox sitcom in a fictionalized version of what his life is like today.
Lewis disappeared from the music scene after he began losing his hearing to a rare disease. Now he's going to exploit that disability in the coming comedy series.
"[It] follows rock and roll legend Huey Lewis as he navigates his new life after losing his hearing. With the help of his codependent family and eccentric celebrity friends, Huey will tackle this hilarious next phase with his signature Heart and Soul."
Lewis is no stranger to acting, but playing yourself is often the hardest role of all. What an odd idea. But if it ever gets to air, it will certainly be worth a look just to see if they can pull it off.

I recall Chris Isaak doing a similar type of show - it was quite good. Sadly, it never found its way to video/streaming.

Nice! Quality is so-so, but better than nothing.

Didn't Robert Van Winkle, AKA Vanilla Ice try a reality show, except it was about him selling real estate.
Price Price, baby.

Hope the writers room is up to handling the different aspects of his disability with funny and smart observations, not cringe-worthy dialogue.
If the attempt bombs I can imagine the review starting with the headline: "Huey Lewis and the Snooze."

sad but true Shorty Wave 🙃😁
there's something very Rodney Dangerfield-ish about Huey, he'd be terrific in a remake of the hilarious Dangerfield movie Easy Money.
