You'll need a VPN to see it, but CNN, the original all news channel that hasn't really been all news for a long time, has also been producing a ton of documentary material to fill time on weekends, holidays and nights. Now many of those will be available for free on a new so-called FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) service..
Among the series now up and running:
Amanpour: Sex and Love Around the World, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Chasing Life With Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Diana, Lincoln: Divided We Stand, Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History, This is Life With Lisa Ling, The Wonder List With Bill Weir and United Shades of America With W. Kamau Bell.
The CNN Originals channel can be found on Amazon Freevee, Amazon Prime and Fire TV, but probably the easiest place to find it is on the free Plex TV website. (Again, a VPN set to the U.S. is needed or you'll get an error message.)
They're pledging to add more series as time goes by and I'm hoping that may include the History of the Sitcom, the History of Comedy and some of their other history series like "1968," which they reran last weekend.
