Religion 2nd Most Popular Radio Format By Station Count In USA

Whenever I have travelled in the US by car, I was always surprised by the number of religious radio stations in any given area.  The latest format count from INSIDERADIO shows while country is still the most popular radio format by the number of stations with that format, it is hanging on by a thread. https://www.insideradio.com/free/country-still-leads-but-religion-gets-closer-in-july-format-counts/article_10a34934-4e3f-11ef-b23b-9706728b5037.html

Re: Religion 2nd Most Popular Radio Format By Station Count In USA

Years back I did a road trip from Utah to Toronto, crossing through Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska Iowa, Indiana etc.... my car mate and I played a game to see if we could find a religious Christian radio station to listen to through every state.  We did.  it was not at all hard.
Also almost every radio station played Paul Harvey.

Re: Religion 2nd Most Popular Radio Format By Station Count In USA

If you include Contemporary Christian radio (stations like 102.5 in Buffalo), then Religion/Christian radio is by far the most popular format in the US based on the number of stations.  I was taking that the Religion category was more preaching and talk oriented, but the chart also shows that the Contemporary Christian stations which are usually more music are a big factor and growing.

Looks like top 40, classic hits, news/talk, classic rock for the most part are in decline according to the number of stations that currently have these formats.

Looks like 'Highway to Hell' is evolving into Christofascism.

Build a wall.
