But will we get to see it here? And if so, where?
Disney+ owns the rights to the current British sci fi classic, but I'm not sure if they also will have this one. Although it's certainly the most likely place for it to land. It may be a while before we know - they don't even start filming it until August.
What's it about? Here are the details:
Doctor Who spin-off The War Between The Land And The Sea

If it's at the same level of "quality" writing as Class (the previous Dr Who spinoff), I wouldn't worry about watching it. It'll probably be cancelled after one season.
I don't think Dr Who has ever been one of those franchises that fares well with spinning off secondary elements of its story universe into their own TV shows (though I do have a soft spot for the Sarah Jane Adventures).

I don't know. I thought Torchwood was pretty good.
But just remember, the shows you're thinking of were on when the BBC was making Dr. Who on the extreme cheap, with guys in rubber masks as the monsters.
This newer version of Who has a bigger budget and much better production values. And besides, I've liked Russell Tovey since he was in "Being Human," another English sci fi series about vampires that spawned an American version.
So I'm willing to give it a chance. I just hope we get to see it.
