Music Canada Complains New CRTC Rules Benefit Radio Too Much

The rules force the major music streamers to contribute to a fund to benefit Canadian broadcasting. But some advocates for the music industry are angry that it aids only legacy media - and doesn't take changing technology into consideration. 

Music Canada's Patrick Rogers is "describing last month’s “bewildering” tax decision as a means to hold onto old policy rather than to modernize, ignoring the role licensed streaming plays in building the careers of Canadian artists."
