    New UK Government Will Continue Annual BBC Household License Fee

    The previous Conservative government in the UK was considering doing away with the annual license fee per houshold of 159 pounds ($275 CAN) for the BBC after 2027/28.  The new Labour government under PM Keir Starmer has indicated his government will continue with the fee beyond 2027.  The license fee helps to fund BBC and brings in approx $5.5 billion Canadian per year.  More details from Deadline..https://deadline.com/2024/07/uk-prime-minister-keir-starmer-pledge-continue-bbc-licence-fee-after-previous-government-threats-1236009262/
