Well, that didn't take long. Sirius reached a deal with the federal Competition Bureau after it fined them $3.3 million for advertising prices that didn't include an extra charge subscribers would be forced to pay. In addition to the penalty settlement it agreed to fork over, they'll also cover the cost of the entire investigation.
Sadly, it does not appear that extra charge to its customers is going away with the settlement.

I dropped SiriusXM little over 3 weeks ago and the offers have been non stop. Now down to $8.28 per month including tax. I had been paying about $20 per month prior to cancelling. Can't say I miss them. Recently had a long drive to and from Muskoka and listened to local radio all the way there and back. I really enjoyed some of the stations in "cottage country." MAX FM in Orillia and Moose FM stood out.
