New Streaming Service's Shows Made Entirely By A.I. & User Controlled

How do you feel about this - a brand new online streaming service that vows to let users produce their own shows made totally by Artificial Intelligence? The first such "program" resembles South Park" in its animation style and frankly isn't all that absorbing. If it weren't made by A.I., would it be anything more than a curiosity?

But there's more to this than just the latest technology. The site, called "Showrunner," promises to let users not only watch the content, but control where the story goes and create their own shows out of whole cloth.

"Fable Studio, an Emmy-winning San Francisco startup, on Thursday announced Showrunner, a platform the company says can write, voice and animate episodes of shows it carries. Under the initial release, users will be able to watch AI-generated series and create their own content — complete with the ability to control dialogue, characters and shot types, among other controls."

Theoretically, it means a show can never be cancelled, come to an end or have the same plot twice, depending on what a user wants to see. So far, it's animation only, but it's hoped there could be more of a "live action" feel in future experiments.

And here's the final incentive - if you can get your created show picked up by an actual commercial streamer, you'll reap the benefits with an actual paycheque.

The first such experiment is a five minute sample called "Exit Valley," a supposed satire on Silicon Valley. If you're curious, you can watch it here.
