Dave Thomas' Famous Son Planning "Rocketship 7" Movie
This one is for baby boomers who grew up in Southern Ontario and in range of WKBW-TV.
The "son" is David Boreanaz, currently appearing in the final season of Fox's "Bones." (His dad apparently makes a cameo in the series finale.) But according to the Buffalo News, Promo the Robot's best friend is the inspiration for a flick he's been working on for six years. (Can't wait to see who's cast as Mr. Beeper.)
By the way, according to TV columnist Bill Brioux, the guy who played the accordian on "Dialing For Dollars," which followed the kids' show, was the person inside the Promo suit.

Even some of us GenXers saw Commander Tom Jolls and Dave Thomas on the weekends, not just Boomers

Depends whether it's a biography or a movie about a children's morning show host.
