It's hard for many to think of a world without radio, but back in its early days, the new medium was blamed for just about everything bad, especially with kids. When I was younger, first it was comic books and then TV that got the blame. Now I guess it's social media and smart phones. 

I suppose everyone is looking for a scapegoat for whatever is going wrong in society. (Although there's a growing body of credible evidence about the deleterious effects of social media!)
