AI Used To Help Program Music On US iHeart Stations

Really interesting article from INSIDERADIO that talks about how iHeart in the US is starting to use AI for music programming.

Other topics covered are projected growth of radio this year stateside, how radio is surpassing TV in some areas. Also featured is the the success of iHeart selling their podcasts, with big increases in revenue for this new adjacent business.

Re: AI Used To Help Program Music On US iHeart Stations

At one time (I have no idea if it is now) Chum FM was programmed in waves by tempo going from slow to fast back to slow so there were no jarring transitions. AI could be used to perform tasks like that rather than a music director hand picking the songs. Most music scheduling programs have this built in but AI could super charge it.
