Corus' Roy Green Reveals Doctors Thought He Would Die Last March

On his weekend show, veteran Corus talk show host Roy Green alluded to his battle with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, which he's been fighting for over a year and which kept him off the air for several weeks last year.

But he almost never came back at all. In relating his battle against the disease, he revealed that when he was sent to hospital via an emergency ambulance run last March, he was wheeled into a Hamilton ER suffering from complete kidney failure and sepsis, a dangerous condition which can cause all the body's organs to shut down.

He heard one of the physicians say he didn't think he'd make it through the night and they were afraid he would die. Fortunately, he arrived just in the nick of time - a few hours later and he wouldn't have made it.

He admits he's lucky and is still battling the disease, but so far, so good. And he intends to be around for a long time yet. But it was a very close call.
