Most Jays' Spring Training Games Will Be On TV, Fewer On Radio

Spring training games begin on Saturday, an appropriate day for the Boys of Summer, since it's expected to be -20C here on the first day of the weekend. Sportsnet will have 26 of the 32 early contests, while new permanent play-by-play voice Ben Shulman will call 18 other matches on The Fan 590.

The TV crew will be in Florida but the radio guys will be calling the games off a monitor, a pattern Rogers expects to use for the entire season.

"Included in the TV schedule are 15 home games, which will be produced and called by the regular Sportsnet crew. As has been the case in previous seasons, the remaining games will be simulcast feeds produced by the home team."

Majority of Blue Jays Grapefruit games to be televised in Canada

Despite 20 phone calls and e-mails Rogers has not told me if there will be Jays games on the radio in Ottawa.

TSN1200 will have most games, starting Sunday.
