Some are saying that this is just the same as cable.  No word on price but speculation is that the new service may be pricey.  Anywhere from $30-$70 per month..From yahoo! finance..https://finance.yahoo.com/video/disney-fox-warner-bros-join-160943795.html

Rob Snow and his producer were discussing this today and talking about how they plan to sign up when it becomes available. Of course it won’t be available here because virtually all of the sports content is owned by TSN and Sportsnet. I’m still surprised at how little media people in Canada know about their own industry and their own companies.

A Globe & Mail columnist claims this looming sports behemoth is proof that when it comes to sports networks, Canada actually has it better than the U.S., despite two companies controlling almost everything.

I think it was Paterson and I who were agreeing about this several weeks ago.  Having fewer outlets in Canada is very good for us in that way.  CTV is a combination of all of the top shows from all of the US networks.  Our two sports networks are the same.  We get a lot of games on TV that are "streaming only" in the US.

Or it may not happen, after all, depending on a court challenge.

“Each of these companies has consistently engaged in anticompetitive practices that aim to monopolize the market, stifle any form of competition, create higher pricing for subscribers and cheat consumers from deserved choice,” FuboTV CEO David Gandler said in a statement. “By joining together to exclusively reserve the rights to distribute a specialized live sports package, we believe these corporations are erecting insurmountable barriers that will effectively block any new competitors from entering the market.”

This sounds a bit like sour grapes from a competitor who is badly outgunned, but hey, you never know how a court will rule.

Rumour has it the NFL is looking at its legal options regarding this venture.  They're apparently not happy.
