There's a low power FM station located in a place called Chiloquin, Oregon that just lost its licence, pulled by the FCC. But it's the reason that I find hilarious. Apparently this tiny outlet had its transmitting antenna not on a giant tower but in a tree. Yes, a tree. 

So what cost KQCF its licence? Apparently, it moved the antenna - to another tree!

"The problem for [owner] Common Frequency is that, after receiving permission to move to another tree on a short-term basis, it moved to a tree in a neighbor’s yard 32-meters away."

Because it had been operating from an "unauthorized location" for a year with no attempt to fix the issue, the FCC pulled the licence. The craziest part, to me, is that there's no rule against transmitting from a tree. It was moving it elsewhere that was apparently the real sin.

I know I shouldn't laugh at someone else's misfortune, but for some reason this strikes me as both ridiculous and hysterical. They lost their licence because they moved to another tree too far away? I'm not sure I've ever heard of anything quite like that before.
