Emmys To Salute All Eras Of TV History

Instead of just handing out the hardware, this year's Emmy show, which airs Monday night on Fox and CTV2, will also salute various eras of TV history.

Among the tributes: "I Love Lucy," "All In The Family," "Cheers," "Game Of Thrones," and the "Carol Burnett Show." I always complain that the industry often ignores its own storied past and frankly, I wasn't even going to watch the Emmys this year, because most of the nominees are streaming shows I haven't seen. But this may be worth a look just to see what they do and who appears.

Re: Emmys To Salute All Eras Of TV History

It was over a week ago, but did anyone actually watch the 75th Emmy's on CTV2 or FOX?  I forgot about it and looked up the ratings from last week. Looks like the nostalgia from past great shows didn't attract many.

Only 4.46 million viewers tuned into FOX for the broadcast.  A  new low for The Emmy's.  On CTV2  it would be anyone's guess.  You can't even blame the poor numbers on the NFL playoff game between the Eagles and Buccaneers.  A repeat of NCIS had more viewers on CBS.

The big four OTA US networks had their usual poor showing with only ABC's Abbott Elementary winning  Best Lead Actress for Quinta Brunson.  Makes you wonder why any of the OTA networks even want to run this awards show.  All they are doing is promoting the better shows that aren't carried on  FOX, CBS, NBC, or ABC.
