Usual Suspects Top Radio Ratings In Toronto As Numbers Released

The names are the same, only the dates have changed. That's the conclusion from the latest Numeris numbers for Toronto, with CHFI, CHUM-FM, CBC Radio 1 and Boom all in their usual top spots. David Bray's website has the breakdown here.

A few interesting things I noted right off the bat in share of hours tuned for adults 12+:

-CFRB seems to have benefited greatly from, I'm guessing, the interest in the U.S. election, with its numbers up more than 1.5 points. And then there's AM640 sitting at its seemingly never-ending 2.0. I like some of CFMJ's shows, but once again, there's no doubt who rules the talk format roost in this city.

-The Fan is listed as actually going down 0.1 percentage point, something of a surprise considering the interest in the Blue Jays. Meanwhile things continue to get worse at TSN 1050, which went from a terrible 0.7 last time to a disastrous 0.5 in the new numbers. You could rent out a hall and attract more people.

-AM740 ticked up a bit, perhaps because there are fewer and fewer places to go to hear oldies of any kind in the city and maybe because their message about their FM repeater has finally seeped through into the downtown core where many complained electrical interference prevented them from tuning in.

I've got the AM740 FM repeater on one of the presets in my car.  Not my first choice but I do tune it in from time to time.

LOL  Lately, Classical 96.3 because there are virtually no lyrics and I can think better.  Jazz FM91 is a staple.

No less an entity than radio veteran Pat Holiday breaks down the latest PPMs beyond just Adults 12+. And some of the numbers are interesting.
