I have to admit I never watched "Twist," a lifestyle network that could be found on Tegna-owned WGRZ-TV in Buffalo. So I won't miss it when it ceases broadcasting on the last day of the year. The station, which specialized in shows about fixing up houses, food prep, fashion and the like, was primarily aimed at a female audience.
But when they failed to tune in, the company decided it just wasn't worth buying the programming, and have decided to shutter the network entirely. It's not immediately clear if anything will replace it on WGRZ, with 2.1 the main NBC channel, 2.2's sitcom-rerun heavy Antenna TV, True Crime on 2.3 and finally, the reality Quest occupying 2.4.
But it looks like 'GRZ hasn't waited for the final curtain. They've already replaced Twist at 2.5 with the same True Crime freed that's already airing on 2.3. Hopefully something new will take its place in 2024.
