Sorry to hear about the passing of Laura Lynch, musician and The Chicks founder.

Imagine being the CBC's Laura Lynch and having to field calls and messages from distraught friends and family.

What a mistake to make. Quite the fustercluck.

This same kind of thing happened to frequent radio panelist Laura Babcock, who appears often on a number of CFRB shows. She has the exact same name as one of the murder victims of Dellen Millard and Mark Smich, who were convicted of the would-be actress' murder in 2012. 

Babcock has complained on air in the past that some people didn't realize she's not the same person who was killed and many are surprised when they discover this Laura Babcock is still very much alive.

I see her on Twitter fairly often and could never figure out why her name sounded familiar. Thanks!

That was a truly horrible case, and I still think about Tim Bosma and how he took them for a drive in his truck, thinking they just wanted to buy it, and they killed him. They are evil.
