It's one of the most curious radio stations in the world - on shortwave, and carrying nothing but time signals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Right to the second.
I use it to set my watch and the clocks in the house, although they almost always stray from that initial setting after a while. But did you know between those ticking down of the seconds and the top of the minute beep, there's a lot of other info embedded in there, if you know where to look for it?
The website Hackaday outlines what you're hearing - and what you may have missed, along with all the engineering mechanics required to keep to the exact time all the time. And I guess if you're employed there, there's simply no excuse in being late for work!
