CTV News Toronto makes an unholy screw up during broadcast

Asleep at the switch? An honest mistake? Just one of those things? A deliberate choice? Will/should an apology be offered.

Re: CTV News Toronto makes an unholy screw up during broadcast

The Toronto Sun did an article on this. And for the record, CTV did apologize - twice. Once on the five and again on the 6. (Haven't seen the 11:30, but it would not surprise me if they repeated it there, too.) I find it hard to believe that what happened was deliberate. No TV station would knowingly do this, especially in these ultra-sensitive times.

I agree with one Sun commenter who said it's more likely when they lost the feed from the reporter, they just went to whatever B-roll they had standing by, unfortunate though it was. It's bad to go to black on the air, but anything would have been better than this!

War footage in CTV's Hanukkah story feels 'deliberate' to some

This is the type of thing that happens when you cut back staff. CTV/Bell Media in general has become very sloppy of late and I honestly think they don’t care. View at your own peril!
