Actually, the only real "history" of the Internet will remain in the U.S., but will establish a "mirror" site here. The reason, they say, is because they're afraid of one D. Trump, although why he'd get rid of the Archive - if he's even aware of it - is beyond me. Many of us here have used the Wayback Machine to look at everything from our own websites to early incarnations of SOWNY.
The mirror move won't be cheap - those behind the archive estimate it will cost millions of dollars - likely in U.S. funds.
