Billboard Canada (formerly FYI Music News) reports on an upcoming release of a music collection CD featuring some rare Toronto-scene recordings. Among the artists and record labels that will be represented: Roman Records (from CHUM's Duff Roman), a pre-Blood Sweat & Tears David Clayton-Thomas (with the Shays), Shirley Matthews, Levon and the Hawks and yes, even our old friend Dave Mickie.
It's not clear exactly when this will be released, but the magazine reports that it's been in the works "for years" and the guy behind it, a rock historian named Jan Haust, wants to make sure it's right before it comes out.
