Toronto has the distinction of having the first and longest running Santa Claus Parade in the world at 119 years. This big parade is this Sunday starting at 12:30.
CTV shows the parade but not live. The network will have a 90 minute special on December 9th.
One highlight will be a performance by Brenda Lee singing her timeless Christmas hit Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. The Christmas classic is 65 years old this year, released in 1958 when Brenda was 13.
Brenda, now 78 still performs, especially around the holiday season.

Still miss Global's coverage (also tape delayed) of the parade from the '80s and '90s, esp. with hosts like Faye Dance from the Wintario draws, or the late great Sandy Hoyt of CHFI at street level. Here's a look at the first few minutes of the 1989 show, with Dance and Hoyt, and also Global News' John Dawe.
