If there's a more likeable or talented performer around, they'd have to be pretty amazing to beat Dick van Dyke. And the network that helped make him a legend is celebrating his 98th birthday with a giant primetime special next month.

It will feature special guests and a compendium of clips from movies like Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bye Bye Birdie, along with TV classics such as Diagnosis Murder and of course, the best of them all, the Dick van Dyke show. Apparently, some of the two hour special will take place on a replica of the set from that amazing sitcom. 

It airs Dec. 21st. No word yet if any Canadian networks are picking this up.
