I saw Richard Madan on the CBC noon news for the first time on Thursday. He was recently let go from CTV News after having served as one of their Washington correspondents. He's still in DC but he's working for a new outlet now, Canada's national broadcaster, having officially joined them earlier this month.
I remember him way back from his days at City TV and he was with CTV based in the U.S. capital for several years, until he was caught up in major layoffs in July. He made the announcement of his return on Twitter/X three days ago, and is already on the air.

Good for him. I always enjoyed his coverage of whatever was going down in DC, so it’s nice to hear he’s landed on his feet again. CTV’s loss is the CBC’s gain.

The CBC has quite a large Washington bureau. Katie Simpson, Paul Hunter, Alex Panetta, and Makda Ghebreslassie also work there.
