First Christmas radio in Canada?

92.3 Smiths Falls, is now Santa Radio.  It was a Country station, but that format switched to 101.1, when CityNews radio closed in Ottawa.
I wonder what the format will be following the holiday season.

Re: First Christmas radio in Canada?

I'd be surprised if it's anything but JACK.

The station doesn't reach well into any rated markets, and this would be the easiest solution.

Also, the Christmas logo is based on the JACK logo:

Was it ever anything else but Jack under Rogers ownership?
(prior to Country)

Is was Country when it first moved from AM to 92.3. It flipped to JACK in 2004 when Rogers moved Ottawa's Country CKBY 105.3 to 101.1, making Country on 92.3 redundant.

Thanks. I don't know why I forgot that...easy listening on 101.1 (before Rogers bought it & switched it to XFM) and Country on 92.3...

Correct. When Rogers bought 101.1 they flipped it to Xfm to flank their own Rock CHEZ 106 to attack 106.9 The BEAR from each demo. It worked well for a while.
