I came across the linked article by accident and thought I recognized the name Rob Christie. He spent several years in Toronto, doing mornings at Mix 99.9 for five years, and later another two years at Jack FM (now Kiss FM.) He also has an extensive voiceover career.
Christie spent the last few years in Edmonton, before retiring from the biz to attend to his voicework. Now he's back on the air in that city again, this time taking over mornings for yet another "Mix" format at CKFT-FM. His first shift starts Wednesday morning.

Some welcome. Christie's very first day on the job saw the station go all Christmas on his first shift. What a letdown!
You can hear Christie's return and the flip from Halloween to Xmas here.

What's interesting to me is this is the first time I've seen this Fort Saskatchewan station refer to itself as "Edmonton's" anything. I wonder if Christie's hiring and the early flip to Christmas signal its intent to enter the market. It puts a pretty good signal over most of it.
