Music Chart History On This Date
RadioWest.ca has an interesting feature everyday called Chart History. The charts cover different decades on this date from western Canadian and US stations. And they usually include a few CHUM charts in the mix.
October 14th is featured today from 1957, 1961,1963, 1967,1968 and 1972. College football was a big deal in Vancouver back in 1967 with LG73 broadcasting a game live between Simon Fraser University and UBC. KAYO Giant 62 in Seattle wrote out the lyrics for two of their charted songs so listeners could sing along when the song came on the radio. October 14 1957 CHUM was introducing a young new morning man named Al Boliska, Come up with a name for his new show and you could win $500!
