For the second time in the last week, John Moore has complained about the noise coming from the studios down the hall. He notes that some of "the kids," as I believe he calls them, in the adjacent radio stations are pumping up the volume so loud, some listeners can actually hear it over CFRB.
He's talking about either CHUM-FM or Virgin 99.9 - or maybe both - but he never does actually say which one. But he notes when the volume and the bass go up, he often has to get up during a spot break and ask them to turn it down because the sound is leaking on-air onto 1010.
I haven't noticed anything but he says those on HD or online might have heard it on occasion. My question: Bell Media had to create brand new studios out of thin air when the stations moved from 2 St. Clair W. Why wouldn't they have gone the extra lengths to make sure these places were completely soundproof? They had the rare chance to do it right from scratch. It appears they didn't.
And now it's up to Moore to effectively tell them, "You kids get off my lawn!" Although he insists he always tries to do it in a nice way.

It would be Virgin. They recently moved into a newly-built studio in the former RB newsroom.
Those "Kids" are keeping RB's lights on.

They built a Virgin Radio studio in the old 1010 Newsroom and did not soundproof it, so I am told .

The national midday show for MOVE is done from Toronto. Maybe Ashley gets to move up from the basement.
