Just returned from the family cottage in northeastern Ontario, where we closed things up for another year and enjoyed the last few days of summer.
With radio signals far and few between in the area, we spent time listening to Drumbeat Radio, an FM outlet operated by the local First Nations community in Kipawa, Quebec. The playlist is unique to say the least. On a given morning, you might hear Tom Jones "She's a Lady" followed by "Ghetto Gospel" by Tupac. There's a healthy mix of country, gospel and classic rock on through most of the day with few commercials and bits and pieces of community information. The only problem is the lack of news, but satellite tv from Bell keeps you tuned to all the latest news going on down south.
