New Comic Faces Awful Accusations But Has Anyone At Funny 820 Noticed?

I know Bell is eventually going to sell off Funny 820 and I doubt they're paying much attention to it - if they ever did.

I'm not a fan of so-called Cancel Culture, but I recall that when the Bill Cosby accusations began, they stopped playing any material by the veteran comedian. Same for Louis CK. So I was somewhat surprised to hear a clip from English comic Russell Brand on Saturday.

Brand, who is not exactly a household name here but is very well known in the U.K., has been accused of sexually assaulting and/or raping four women between 2006 and 2013. The charges have resulted in cancellations of some of his shows, his being dropped by his agent, losing a book deal and other repercussions, including a major police probe into the accusations.

Normally, CHAM would immediately stop playing any stand-up excerpts of someone facing these kinds of potential charges, and yet as of Saturday, he was still in the rotation. Does this mean they're waiting to see what happens or is there just no one left paying any attention at Bell's soon-to-be-defunct all comedy station to have noticed and pull his punchlines?

I'll be curious to see if Brand turns up again or joins the "permanently banned" set of other comics they will no longer play.
