more signs of radio news downfall

This is probably nothing new, but I was listening to 1010 the other day after 6pm and heard the 6pm newscast which was of course the feed from CTV.
Can't remember what announcer it was reading -- a man -- but after introing a story, and then playing it he interrupted the report by saying, "oh sorry that was obviously the wrong video we had for that sorry, we'll try to get the right video for you shortly."
sigh.

While radio is a business, it should still be a service also. (at least the news sources)
The blind should have the right to be properly informed without being treated like they're missing out for being blind.
Enough with the "as you can see" behaviour on the radio. It should be illegal.

Re: more signs of radio news downfall

What really irked me is that 1010 just puts on the TV news feed on their radio station with the attitude that says "yeah we know it's the TV feed, who cares, lump it."
I wonder what TV viewers would say if they played radio news on T-V and the screen went blank as audio played.

Yup. It's a churning shitstorm of 'synergies'. Whoever came up with the idea got a bonus for it.

If there is a bright side, then at least they came to their senses and realized that CP24 radio 1050 was a really bad idea.
