Sept. 9, 1956: What You Never Knew About Elvis On The Ed Sullivan Show
Saturday marks 66 years since Elvis Presley appeared on a now legendary episode of the Ed Sullivan Show, a performance witnessed by an estimated 60 million people.
But as the linked article points out, there are a few facts many never knew about that infamous night. For one, Sullivan wasn't even there, recovering at home from a serious car crash. And for another, Elvis wasn't there, either, performing from L.A. where he was filming his very first movie.
