I KNEW There Was Something Familiar About That 640 Casino Rama Ad

AM640 has been running this spot for Larry the Cable Guy appearing at Casino Rama. I've heard this commercial endlessly over the past few days, and there's something about its opening music that was driving me crazy. Where had I heard it before?

And then, in its latest airing, it came to me - I'm pretty sure it was the intro that used to be the opening theme for the Mike Stafford Show on the station so many years ago. I guess enough time has passed that they're using it again, and it doesn't stay prominent very long in the commercial in any event. But I'd recognize that old familiar drum intro anywhere - even if it took me a few minutes to place it.

And if it's not that Stafford song, then someone ripped off the intro note for note.

Pretty sure that's what it was. They buy it so they never have to pay to use it again.

Most companies access online music libraries now with tens of thousands of beds.  The odds of someone else using the same music is very small but it happens.
