Monday August 14th is the 20th Anniversary of the BIG Blackout

I'm posting this because of the good and not so good memories of how the city and how the media handled the sudden and lengthy power outage in the middle of an August afternoon two decades ago.

I remember having my small battery operated radio on, listening to the various radio stations keeping the public as informed as possible hour by hour as to what the heck was going on. And just as vital were the live voices coming across the airways doing what radio used to do best, provide a human presence.

Would our local Toronto stations be able to provide the same excellent coverage and company for listeners now? It's almost a rhetorical question.

Were you working at a radio or tv station during the 2003 blackout, what was it like?
