Rock Books

Piggy-backing off the recent thread about Rock Mags I thought I would share some scans of music books most of which were written by journalists who worked at magazines.

First up are two relatively early Rock encyclopedias which were an excellent resource pre-internet and they helped me build up my knowlege.   The first one is by Lillian Roxon who I believe wrote for Crawdaddy.
(bubblegum music has been re-assessed since Ms Roxon wrote her blurb). This was first published in 1968 but I got it around 1972.

The second was published in 1978 by writers who worked for the New Musical Express.

Next Up Rock family Trees by Pete Frame. He used to do family trees for various magazines and then published this book with fold out family trees. The book cover and some examples:

continued on separate post as system does not seem to allow me to properly post more pics.

Re: Rock Books

Guy Peelheart's Rock Dreams where he paints dreamscapes of various music music personalities. The book was not bound very well and my copy is falling apart.

A record Review book with a sense of humor.:
