But in noting that most grocery stores are open, the anchor made special mention that all Metro stores are closed. That's actually not true. Yes, there IS a strike at about 27 of them, but other Metros are open because they're represented by a different union. In fact, the chain has launched a radio ad campaign noting that most of their stores are open. 

It's not a big deal in the end, but it's something a news organization as big as CTV should probably already know. 

I believe the Metros that remain open are under a separate grandfathered union...in some cases some of these stores used to be Miracle Marts.  Parkway mall in Scarborough is one of them, very much open.

Then you have the Dominion Save a centres, etc.  It is possible that maybe the stores that remain open may be under the Basics contracted union, but I am not entirely sure. 
(Basics has a 4 year contract that was signed in 2021 to last until 2025)
