RA they have a repeater in Hamilton on 35 (though you wouldn’t know it).  Did you try that?

The audio problems are solved with CKTB. I have not noted them since Tuesday.

it's time for the government to mandate that customers can switch to another provider when we have outages like this.

Customers can switch when ever they would like (contract aside)

If that's the case, that's the second anchor in a row they lost to the GTA

Listening from Peterborough, I noticed next to no coverage, if any on most radio stations. I was listening over the air as the internet and streaming are down.
Kudos though to Citynews, CJBQ and CFRA

Rogers will not own them. They will continue to be owned by CORUS.

Yes but Corus will in effect be owned by Rogers, no?

Pending approval, Rogers could consider turning those Global repeaters in Eastern Ontario into Citytv.
OR
Turn CHEX and CKWS into Citytv and leave the Global repeaters in place.

Its strange that Global still running their Bancroft on Ch2 analog

Probably the main reason Bancroft is still analog is just because it is on ch. 2. A whole new antenna would be needed to get them up to ch. 7 or higher. I believe they were allocated ch. 11 in the digital world.

I didn't think Cape Breton was a market mandated to go digital, so what would Bell's business case be for this?

Could be that the analog transmitter was on its last legs? Regardless, a new antenna would have been needed.
Analog still exists though: In Ontario, Global's big 100kW ch. 2 in Vennachar and CTV stations in Pembroke, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Timmins and Kapuskasing are still analog.
Back to Sydney, what is ironic though is Bell Satellite only just dropped CTV Sydney HD from their line up [as well as other CTV stations]. CJCB is still available in SD.

My 2 cents: You should rename otherwise having two CRN's will screw up google and other searches.

I wonder if the frequency is part of the problem. Outside of the GTA 1050 gets hammered at night. I think 820 would make a far better home for them.

To be clear, CHOP-FM aka Pickering College Radio, is already on the air at 102.7 but with only 5 watts. Looks like they want to convert it to a community based station staying on that busy frequency but with 100 watts

Actually for consistency's sake, it is correct [though I don't know why the 14 bullet is black on white and the rest are white on black]. Starweek uses the original [or virtual] channel number to list stations. So 9 is actually on 8 but they still list it at 9; what readers are familiar with.
