I was very familiar with Lee Aaker.  Who starred with Rin Tin Tin.  I remember Sgt. Biff O'Hara too.  Great Saturday morning TV.  There was a lot of mishandling of money for these kids.  Some from their parents as well.

One of the best shows CBC has ever given us is this season's "Pretty Hard Cases."  A mixture of drama and comedy.   Couldn't believe it was coming from CBC.  Meredith MacNeill is brilliant.  Watch an American network try to steal her.

I was at CFRB twice in my life.  The first time was in the mid 80s; when we hadn't quite gone talk yet.  Ed Needham would be the first.  We were still playing music.  Bill McVean was a very gentle person.  A wonderful man to work with.  If I remember correctly,  Bill had relationship with Wardair.  R.I.P. Bill.  One of the greats of that fabulous on air staff.  Thank you RadioActive for bringing this to our attention.

When I worked at CHUM-FM, Dick was across the hall at 1050 CHUM. Formats would come and go; but during this period the newscast would end in this way. "I'm Dick Smythe and now back to much more music with(name of group) and into music. Well one day this happened.  "I'm Dick Smythe and now back to much more music with 22 TOP!" Yes Dick mistook the letters ZZ with 22. He laughed hard about it afterwards; because Dick had a great sense of humour. Sometimes you just had to find it; but it was there.  I'll miss you Dick. You were an inspiration to all of us and yes a radio legend!!!
