Nord VPN had a sale that just ended; It was 75% off for three years.

I know Netflix is supposed to block out VPN usage, but I tested it last night and I was able to access US content.  I just signed up with the VPN.  I haven't fully tested it out yet.

$3 / month VPN takes care of my US consumption needs.

Wars in Europe were fought over less controversial remarks.  We need to hunker down and brace ourselves.

In person, I never ask people how they are.  I simply don't care.
I'm well liked around the office.

SOWNY » Horn honking on the radio » September 6, 2019 9:56 pm

I remember when car horns made an "awoooooga" sound; These days, thanks to cost cutting measures in Detroit, horns can only make a "beep" sound.  Personally, I prefer a mighty awooooga sound.  My 1964 Cutlass sounded like that.

Is this a return to the radio wars of the 80's?  We lost many good people then.

People who drive on the 407 often listen to the radio

Were the "good old days" as good as y'all remember or is it more  a case of rose coloured glasses?

I've always said working in radio or TV beats working in an office.

The sheer range of talent - and characters - is unlike anything I can imagine happening in say, a factory or an accountant's office. The unbelievable stories I could tell could go on and on and on. Maybe someone working for a dentist might have tales like that, but I doubt they'd be so funny or so surprising.

It may not always have paid the best, but the experience was definitely priceless.

I like getting paid a very comfortable salary to post on SOWNY and listen to the radio; Not all office work is bad.

Every Babe's gonna wanna piece of me yeah

I had the pleasure of listening to it as well. Great interview. Accents are actually a lot of fun to examine and it's amazing how they can differ, even between close geographical areas like Toronto and Buffalo.

It's interesting how presenting the news in a thick Scottish brogue would be considered distracting whereas Maria Madden's Irish lilt (which was very heavy when I first heard her do the news on St. Paddy's Day of all days a few years ago) seems more "charming".

She has the voice of an angel.

I haven't listened to the mighty 'NT in a while, but from what I remember, they do not have a newscaster.

There may be a podcast about the CNE that would list the radio stations in attendance.

No

Last year's Union was able to fill Lamport stadium (& then some) with people who would have attended the CNE Labour day.
That's an awful lot of people.

What is last year's union?

Do people still go to the CNE?  And do they go there to stand around and watch people talk into a microphone?
