I wonder why so many cities across the country with CTV have their own morning shows. Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Atlantic, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Regina but nothing in Toronto.  All we get is the network morning show Your Morning. All of these cities also receive Your Morning on CTV News Channel. The local CTV stations all have individual local morning shows.

I find the national show has way too much weather, and frankly who cares that Penticton is going to have  rain today when it is 6:10am in Ontario and 3:10am in Penticton.   BC is not watching Your Morning at that time of the day so why do they spend so much time with the weather out west?

CTV finally realized in 2011 that no one in the west wants to watch a stale 3-hour old Toronto-centric morning show, when there were higher-rating, live and local options from the competition (BCTV/ITV/Calgary 7/Global, and A-Channel/Citytv); Ottawa and Atlantic were relics from the CHUM days.

Your Morning is seen on CTV Vancouver at 3 AM pacific time right before CTV Morning Live, but you're right - there is no point in focusing on BC weather at 6 AM Toronto time. Then again, CTV probably want Torontonians to go to CP24 for local news in the morning.

Another acknowledgement that much of their on air fund raising comes in Canadian dollars!

A brand change for Buffalo's public broadcasting stations embraces Canada

KSPS in Spokane, Washington does a similar thing. The station is still branded as "KSPS/PBS", but it mentions "Spokane/Coeur D'alene/Calgary/Edmonton" on the station IDs.

Mexico has 3, 4, 5, and even 6 letter call signs. XHRIO in Matamoros, Mexico used to be the UPN affiliate in Brownsville, TX, and had the call sign of XHHUPN.

I also noticed this today when I was watching, and normally CFTO would have a fill-in anchor for either Ken or Michelle. I've never seen them have a solo anchor at Noon.

I also wonder if CTV is about to cull some of their longest-serving news anchors across the network. Daryl McIntyre, the 6 PM anchor at CFRN/CTV Edmonton for 33 years was forced to take a buyout. His last day is September 13 (https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/liane-faulder-its-a-wrap-as-daryl-mcintyre-leaves-the-nightly-news-desk-at-ctv).

Did Ken Shaw strike a deal to have him work part time, and cut his salary? What does this mean for others long-serving CTV News anchors across the network like Steve Murphy (Atlantic), Mutsumi Takahashi (Montreal), Gord Leclerc (Winnipeg), et al?

I believe all the switching now comes out of the main simulcasting network and usually releases within about 30 seconds.

It's still done by the cable companies, but the Canadian broadcasters are watching all their simsubs like a hawk.

During the midterm elections in the US, Global ran one of the Avengers or Marvel movies. I think CTV had a movie as well. Don't know what Citytv did.

CBC/Radio-Canada could have saved a lot of money (and expanded Radio Canada's footprint) if they put CBC and SRC TV on one digital transmitter (CBC on x.1 and Radio Canada on x.2).
