It probably will, but it was ten years ago so it might not be such a big deal anymore. To be honest, I thought it was overblown by the CBC at the time and that there was something else afoot.
Canadians have had ten years of incompetence, rising costs, waste and scandal under the Sunny Ways Singers, but now with a new poster boy, they seem prepared to vote for them again. We get what we deserve.

You're absolutely right about that. To me, it's not the guest but the station that should consider whether they want someone who's been featured prominently on a close competitor.
As I type this, Ben Mulroney is chatting with Tony Chapman of the Chatter That Matters podcast. He also does a regular segment with John Moore on CFRB every single week. (I believe it's on Friday morning.) I wouldn't be so quick to have him on 640 when he's so closely associated with my competition. (Plus, he's not all that interesting a guest, but that's another issue.)
Tony Chapman stinks. While we're on the subject of stinking, am I the only one that hates that Ronald McDonald House commercial that runs about 5 times an hour every single day, with some guy growling like a werewolf while presumably critically ill children giggle?

According to the article, CJAD is the #1 English language radio station in the 12+ demo, with a whopping 32.1 share, up a bit from the last book.
CJAD was sometimes referred to as the CFRB of Montreal, but it's really not anymore. How is that 1010's sister station gets such incredibly high numbers, while its Toronto counterpart can't even register a 2?
Why can't 'RB take whatever CJAD is doing and try it here? They're obviously doing something right. The comparison between the two is telling. They'll almost certainly never be #1 again here. But can they take a lesson from another Bell station about how to do it right?
What is CJAD doing that NewsTalk 1010 isn't?Heard the long time CJAD morning man talking about people "smelling their own farts" the other day while in conversation with John Moore on their regular 7:25 a.m. session. Mr. Moore does an "entertainment" feature Monday through Friday on CJAD.
Or how about the two male hosts at TSN 690 - the Montreal sports station who spent at least 5 minutes this week talking about peeing in the shower - who peed in the shower & their parents showering habits. One set of parents from one of those two according to him ALWAYS showered together & still do!!
I couldn't believe what I was hearing
So it's not always a bed of roses when it comes to programming in Montreal RAHave to admit I don't know a lot about CJAD programming. But even in a smaller market with fewer choices, they must be doing something right to not only earn an almost unheard of 32 share (for an AM station no less!), but also an increase from the last book. I just wonder how it's possible for one Bell heritage station to be doing so well while the other in a different city can't even break a 2.
…
Market make-up and choice certainly has a lot to do with it. But there must be another reason. Talent? Formatics? Something else? The difference is so striking, there has to be

I'm not a political etiquette expert so I have no idea if this moment during Jerry Agar's show was out of the ordinary.
It went something like this. Deb Hutton interviews Chrystia Freeland on the Jerry Agar show this morning. Deb then interviews Doug Ford and during this interview plays a voice message from Chrystia Freeland for Doug Ford. Doug sounds pleased and makes a point of saying he's not going to say anything about the election but thinks Ms. Freeland is a fine person or words to that effect.
This positive response from the Premier could seem like an oblique show of support for Chrystia Freeland to the listeners.
No big deal right?
Ford has declared his respect and friendship with Freeland many times in the past. Carney is a shoo-in, and always was.

Not disagreeing, I think Paul Henderson certainly belongs in the HHOF, however 2010 easily surpasses what you've described ("Canada has never been so united, and proud"). '72 is remembered with heavy bias by the baby boom generation because they were all in school at the time watching and listening to the game. The Vancouver 2010 final had 100% of the country watching that could, we'll never see anything like that again, the pride was immeasurable by all ages coast-to-coast.
Agreed. It helps if you were young and excited during the great moments you remember. I must assume you are too young to remember the 72 summit series. I've never seen the nation so unified behind one event, including the great 2010 final.

He has been inducted (twice) into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame and the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame. Received the Order of Canada in 2013.
Been saying for decades that Henderson should be in the HHOF. In fact, he should have his own room. That's how important he is to Canadian hockey. Nobody will ever beat what he did in 72.
