I don't know where you are, but using the Grundig antenna here in London I can pull in CFOS and CKNX. I'm planning a trip up to that area some time in the next couple of weeks. I want to take it with me. We used to live up there and I could get CKWW 580 from Windsor, but there was always interference from CFOS. I believe that with the antenna I'll be able to null out CFOS and boost CKWW.

I've never been much of a TV watcher, so most of the shows mentioned her, I've never seen. But lately, I've been watching old reruns of Corner Gas on CTV every Saturday night. I never saw it when it was on originally The writing is clever.

Soap - 1977 and on . The cast was great, I always thought that Robert Guilhaume could steal the scenes that he was in... His look, or a roll of his eyes or a snarky delivery of his line(s) to Chester Tate.... always hilarious!
Also the two best sequences were Richard Mulligan as Burt on the Spaceship. And the introduction of Mary's son Bob Campbell with is ventriloquist dummy Chuck... Bob having breakfast at the table and Chuck reading the morning newspaper! And, Chuck the Mind reader!

How did they do in the ratings? I don't see them listed.

Classic Rock 98-1 looks like it will stay with Blackburn Radio.

1400 has been WWWS since 1993, actually. I believe that's now longer than it spent as WYSL.
And 1120 last changed calls 20 years ago, when it took the WBBF calls that used to be in Rochester.
Boardhost is a bit glitchy like that. You need to manually adjust the year for the forum to 1986.

The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin used to be on Channel 17 in the 70s. Absolutely brilliant, and it got even better as it went on, after Reggie returned from his fake suicide (and married his old wife while pretending to be another man) forming the Grot Shop, featuring Useless Gifts for People You Hate. Among them - tennis rackets with no strings and salt and pepper shakers with no holes.
It was a great show and I recommend it highly to anyone who loves outrageous British humour. (Or in the words of Reggie's boss, C.J., "I didn't get where I am today by not liking outrageous British humour...")
It's an acquired taste, but once you get what they're trying to do, you can't turn it off. Full episodes are free on YouTube here.

I like 1970s/80s Britcoms like Fawlty Towers, the Fall And Rise of Reginald Perrin, Fairly Secret Army, Blackadder, Mother & Son (from Australia) - even have a soft spot for some of the crasser ones that Global used to air like Are You Being Served and On the Buses. I also liked British sketch shows - not just Monty Python but Dave Allen at Large which WUTV carried, Not the Nine O'clock News and Alexei Sayle.

I just got an email about my Sportsnet plus account. Going up by a staggering $50 per year.
There better be both a world series and stanley cup appearance in the jays/leafs immediate future!!!
no doubt tsn plus will follow suit sometime soon.

When I came to Toronto in the early 80s I was blown away by CFNY.
They were playing stuff that only my old University radio station used to play.
The DJs were amazing.
Hard to believe back then Ted Woloshyn was actually funny.
Anyway CFNY helped me cope with the early years as I adjusted to life in the Big Smoke.

Or you can take it to Oliver jeweler's or that South African guy... maybe Jack Berkowitz?
Pawn Stars?
They'll give you a few hundred bucks for it.
SOWNY » CRTC adds condition's to the Local News Fund » Yesterday 2:19 pm |
An update to the Independent Local News Fund stipulates that if Global News and CHCH News want the cash they need to do two things. From the report ...
grant calculations will include news that appears only on a station’s website — but only if the online news “relates specifically to an underserved community".
Hopefully this includes the Winipeg Icelandic diaspora.
Edit : I see now this was covered earlier.
From Broadcast Dialogue -
CRTC is adding Corus’s television stations to the list of those eligible. It will also now require ILNF recipients to make local news and information content available online and implement an incentive for original audiovisual online content reflecting equity-deserving, Indigenous, and official language minority communities.

The ubiquitous Spence Diamonds spots have been on the air for months if not years now, but there's one thing about them I never did figure out - just who are they aiming their ads at?
The latest one has the "owner" Michael telling his lackeys about what an incredible price his latest special is going for. The amount: "Less than $10,000!" So probably $9,999.99
Who, exactly, has 10 grand handy in this day and age to throw away on a piece of jewelry? I don't know of a single person trying to pay the bills who could manage it. Yet it's sloughed off like it's a real deal and we're lucky to be getting it.
Maybe they should change the name from Spence to Expense. Too rich for my blood. And I'm betting most of everyone else's, too.

Does the Clime app use the NOAA in the US? If so, there may not be much information soon if the NOAA is defunded.
